Creating a bespoke fur coat is a complex process that involves significant work and refinement, typically requiring 2-4 fittings to ensure a flawless final product. For each bespoke fur coat, we design an entirely new model, initially crafted from fabric and modified by our artisans until it perfectly aligns with the client’s wishes. With dedication, patience, and expertise, we can create the fur coat of your dreams based on a photo or a simple description. This coat can be personalized down to the smallest detail and will fully reflect each client’s body proportions and measurements.
Made-to-Measure Fur Coat
The made-to-measure fur coat is tailored to the client’s measurements, following the exact shape and proportions of their body, while adhering to an existing pattern. This option offers many customization possibilities, such as choosing the material, color, sleeve shape, collar, hood, lining, and closure system, based on body shapes already available in the store. To achieve a perfect result, this option requires one or two fittings and may involve an additional cost of up to 100 euros.
In the past, coats were crafted entirely by a single artisan, with possible assistance from a machinist for sewing or a seamstress for finishing and lining. Furriers were highly skilled artisans who learned their trade from a young age and honed their techniques over a lifetime. Over time, production has become segmented into an increasing number of stages, requiring less specialization and shorter training periods for artisans. This has led to mass-produced coats, crafted with less care and, in cases of defects during production, these issues could persist throughout the stages without remedy.
We have preserved the traditional fur crafting approach, where a coat is crafted by a single artisan from start to finish, sewn, finished, and lined by one specialist. This approach results in longer production times and requires highly skilled artisans, leading to superior quality in the final product, even for standard fur coats, which we manufacture with the same attention to detail as custom-made pieces.
