We can repair and recondition natural fur garments in mink, fox, lynx, sable, chinchilla and other premium furs. We remove and remedy wear and common defects such as tears and open seams, replace linings and fastening systems, alter collars or cuffs, and through FUR SPA cleaning restore the fur’s volume and natural appearance.
We do not repair garments made from sheepskin, goat, rabbit or synthetic materials.

Limits are established before intervention
Not every old garment is worth repairing or can be repaired. If the leather is fragile or cannot support stitching, an intervention can create additional tears. In such cases we recommend an alternative or decline the work.
What should you do after a repair?

What kinds of repairs have we carried out in the furrier atelier?
Classic mink, 30 years old — Local tears and abrasions and a worn lining after excessive wear. We stitched the tears and reinforced stress lines, rebuilt worn edges and replaced the lining. We cleaned the coat through FUR SPA. Result: a garment with a renewed appearance, no visible signs of wear on the outside and no hair loss.
Fox with flattened volume and lost fluffy appearance — improper storage, compressed between other garments, and cosmetic soiling. We reconditioned it locally and recommended FUR SPA; after cleaning, the volume returned immediately, along with the sheen and fluffy appearance. Recommendation: store on a wide hanger.
Chinchilla torn in several places — sensitive, lower-quality material. Minimal intervention: stitching and reinforcement from the inside of the repaired seams. Discreet, aesthetic result with good thermal comfort.
How do I send the garment by courier?
Contact us first so we can see whether we can help. Our specialists will determine whether your garment is eligible for repair.
Packaging: a clean, dry cardboard box without foreign odours, securely closed with adhesive tape. Plastic film around the box is not mandatory but is recommended.
Include a note inside the box with your name, telephone number, email address and a description of the problem.

Repair, restyling or a custom garment?
Repair aims to restore functionality and the original appearance through minimally invasive interventions. We choose it when the model remains the same and the garment has a sound structure. Small adjustments are still possible, such as body or sleeve length, changing the collar/hood, fastening system and lining.
Restyling changes the silhouette and lines, updating the cut for a more modern look. It is ideal when the volume or proportions no longer flatter you or the garment feels dated. The result is a completely renewed garment.
Bespoke is the premium solution when you want an entirely new piece designed to your measurements, with a unique model and dedicated material selection. It requires intermediate fittings.
At the assessment, we recommend the right option: sometimes a repair plus a discreet adjustment offers the best value; in other cases restyling is the solution that takes the garment where you want stylistically.
How can I prevent damage to a fur garment?
Most defects occur in high-movement areas: shoulders from carrying a bag, sides, cuffs and edges, seat, pockets and front edges. These areas are constantly under movement and over time seams and fur can weaken or wear.
Storage in crowded spaces or on thin hangers also deforms the garment and fur, flattening the hair and giving the piece a crushed and damaged appearance.
To prevent problems, store natural fur garments on a wide hanger, away from direct heat and sunlight or UV-emitting light sources. Spraying perfume or using solvents on fur is not recommended: they can dull the sheen and stiffen the fibre. If an incident occurs, such as a tear or stain, stop wearing the garment and avoid improvised remedies. A prompt, correctly executed intervention is much more likely to remain invisible and extend the garment’s life. Do not wash, iron or attempt to treat it yourself; contact us as soon as possible.

What are the approximate price and duration of repairs?
The final price depends on the extent of the intervention and the time required. After assessment you receive a written quotation.
The duration can vary from a few days to several months depending on the type of work and the atelier workload.

How should I care for a fur garment?
Professional FUR SPA cleaning every 1–4 years depending on colour and the degree of soiling from cream, foundation and similar products.
Storage on a wide hanger, NOT in a garment cover, in an airy space away from sunlight or UV light sources.
Avoid perfume and chemical solutions on the fur or leather.
Washing with water or solvents, excessive wetting and forced drying near heat sources are prohibited.
Protect the garment against moths.
Will the repair be visible from the outside?
In most cases, no. The objective is an intervention that is as discreet as possible. If additional material is required, we look for material that is as close as possible to the garment brought in for repair.

How long does a typical repair take?+
Local interventions can take a minimum of 2–3 working days depending on the workload of our Bucharest furrier atelier, while larger jobs take a minimum of 7 days. The final timeframe is confirmed after assessment. Fur garments purchased from MG Fur House receive priority for repair and restyling services.
Do you provide a warranty on the work?+
Yes. The atelier provides a 12-month warranty for the workmanship and materials supplied by us. It does not cover faults caused by the client’s material, natural wear, mechanical or thermal shocks, chemical stains, improper wear or improper storage.
Can I send the coat by courier?+
Yes. Contact us first and send photographs for an initial assessment. The final quotation is confirmed after the garment is physically inspected.
Do you repair synthetic fur, sheepskin, goat or rabbit?+
No. The atelier focuses on premium natural furs such as mink, fox, lynx, sable and chinchilla.
Is it worth repairing a very old coat?+
It depends on the condition and strength of the leather. After assessment we may recommend repair, restyling or avoiding an intervention that would create additional damage.
Will the repair be visible from the outside?+
In most cases, no. The aim is to make the intervention as discreet as possible. If additional material is required, we look for material as close as possible to the garment being repaired.
Can I receive an estimate from photographs only?+
Yes, as an initial orientation. The final quotation is confirmed after physical inspection of the garment.
