MG Fur House

Family tradition since 1939. Premium luxury furs created and finished in Bucharest.

The story of MG Fur House begins in 1939 and continues today through three generations of the same family, united by respect for the furrier’s craft, quality materials and work done properly.

In our Bucharest atelier, traditional craftsmanship is complemented by modern techniques, carefully selected premium furs and exacting standards at every stage of production. From material selection and pattern construction to cutting, assembly and finishing, every detail is followed with care.

This continuity, supported by experience and high standards, has made MG Fur House a reference name on Romania’s luxury fur market.

Premium raw materials, processed by the finest specialists

We select premium materials with exacting care and bring out their qualities through well-constructed patterns, carefully considered cuts and precise finishing. Technical expertise passed down within the family allows us to develop models with their own identity while preserving the rigour of the craft in every detail.

The quality of every garment begins with the selection of the skins. Over time, we have chosen premium materials at auctions held by reference houses such as Kopenhagen Fur, Saga Furs, Sojuzpushnina, Ruspushnina and American exchanges. We look not only for very high-quality skins, but for the right skins for the model we want to create.

We are equally careful in choosing the tannery that will process them. Some European tanneries excel in treating certain types of fur; others can achieve special finishes or exclusive shades and effects. The partnerships developed over decades help us choose the right partner and process for each project, including small series.

Technical expertise passed down and refined from generation to generation helps us anticipate how each type of fur will behave during tanning, dyeing and garment construction. This allows us to choose the right tannery and build the pattern correctly in order to achieve the colour, shape and finishing desired for the perfect garment.

The level of finishing achieved with diligence and professionalism, together with our quality control, places us alongside major luxury brands around the world.

Our atelier

Most MG Fur House creations are made or finished in our own Bucharest atelier. For a small number of models, we work with European furriers specialised in certain types of fur, who produce them either entirely or in part.

Bespoke models, repairs and restyling are carried out exclusively in our atelier. Our team transforms each piece of natural fur into a durable and sustainable garment, with lines and proportions designed for comfort and long-term wear.

Our services:

  • made-to-measure custom fur garments;
  • restyling of fur garments by modernising the cut to measurements (upcycling);
  • professional repairs;
  • professional cleaning and maintenance through our FUR SPA service;
Warranty

and after-sales services

We trust the materials we select and the quality of every garment we make. That is why all fur coats and vests from MG Fur House come with a commercial warranty certificate valid for between 3 and 5 years, depending on the product. The warranty covers material and workmanship defects that are not caused by improper wear or storage, under the conditions stated in the certificate.

We remain alongside our clients after purchase through:

  • a care and storage guide;
  • alterations and adjustments;
  • post-warranty professional cleaning, maintenance, alteration and restyling services;
  • interventions and services after the warranty expires at a reduced price.

Materials selected with exacting care

We select furs from specialist auctions such as Kopenhagen Fur, Saga Furs, Sojuzpushnina and Ruspushnina. We select Purple and Platinum categories from Kopenhagen Fur, and Saga® Lumi Royal and Saga® Royal for furs from the SAGA auction in Helsinki. For Russian sable we use Barguzinsky, Yeniseisky or Yakutsky types depending on the garment model.

Natural furs

personality and luxury

For us, a very high-quality fur coat is more than a garment. As the most visible element of an outfit, its presence can define the entire look and express the style, personality and status of the person wearing it.

In our view, a fur coat also needs a personality of its own, achieved through a unique design that sets it apart and makes it stand out among mass-produced fur garments. The fur, proportions and cut give it character and contribute to the recognisable identity that defines pieces manufactured at MG Fur House.

Beyond thermal comfort, a premium fur coat provides a distinctive sense of comfort, security and confidence that can be felt every time it is worn.

This vision guides us in selecting furs, constructing models and paying attention to finishing. Through rigorous quality control, we pursue a level of execution comparable to that of major international luxury houses.

Traceability and FURMARK® certification

MG Fur House is the only manufacturer in Romania certified FURMARK® and the ninth atelier in the world to obtain this certification, with manufacturer code MA0009.

FURMARK® is an international certification and traceability system for natural fur. It monitors compliance with requirements regarding animal welfare, material processing and environmental protection and documents the fur’s journey from its source to the finished product.

Controlled origin

For FURMARK®-certified garments, the skins come from sources included in certification programmes recognised by the system. For mink and fox farmed in Europe, WelFur assesses animal welfare conditions on farms.

Controlled processing

The skins used for these garments are dressed and, where applicable, dyed in facilities certified according to SafeFur requirements. The standard sets rules for the substances used, verification of processing and compliance of the finished product with REACH requirements.

Compliance with REACH means that fur garments do not contain chemical substances restricted or considered dangerous to human health or the environment.

Verifiable traceability

Each FURMARK®-certified garment comes with a label carrying a unique code. By entering the code on the FURMARK® verification page, the customer can consult the available information about the type and origin of the fur, the certification programme, the manufacturer and the place of manufacture.

The FURMARK® programme is recognised worldwide and supported by the International Fur Federation, bringing together leading manufacturers that comply with the most exacting standards of quality and responsibility.

Unique serial label

Each certified garment has a label with a unique code. With this code, you can verify on the FURMARK website the origin of the skins, the producing country and the retailer.

FURMARK certification

The FURMARK label guarantees that the product has passed through the value chain in accordance with the programme standards.

Stocks and flows are centrally monitored by the FURMARK platform.

Passion in the third generation

The Mărgărit family’s tradition in furriery begins in 1939, when Ion Mărgărit entered a Bucharest atelier as an apprentice at the age of 14. In 1953, Daniel Mărgărit’s mother also began working in this craft.

Daniel Mărgărit, the second generation, joined the atelier in 1992. He learned the craft by working directly with fur and later refined his knowledge alongside masters in Italy and Greece. His experience is reflected today in material selection, pattern construction and attention to finishing.

Bianca Mărgărit, Daniel’s daughter, represents the third generation. She contributes to the evolution of MG Fur House through her perspective on design, the development of the brand identity and the relationship with clients. Her understanding of the preferences and lifestyle of younger customers has helped bring the brand closer to a new audience.

The tradition that began in 1939 therefore continues through experience passed down within the family and through each generation’s contribution to MG Fur House creations.

Do you offer a warranty for fur garments?

Yes. All natural fur coats, jackets and vests purchased from MG Fur House in Bucharest come with a certificate providing a genuine 3-year warranty.

If a defect covered by the warranty occurs, repairs are carried out free of charge in MG Fur House’s own furrier atelier as quickly as possible.

We also provide post-warranty services, repairs, reconditioning and restyling for natural fur garments.

Do you make custom fur garments?

Yes. MG Fur House in Bucharest creates luxury natural fur garments to order, adapted to each client’s measurements, proportions and preferences. The process can begin with a consultation in the showroom or by telephone for clients in other cities or abroad.

We have created made-to-measure and bespoke fur garments for clients located thousands of kilometres away. They are guided step by step in taking their measurements correctly, according to our atelier’s instructions, while the model, fur type, cut and details are agreed together before the piece is made.

When necessary, fittings can also be scheduled in the MG Fur House showroom in Bucharest.

Can you repair or restyle an older fur coat?

Yes. We provide professional repair and restyling services after assessing the condition of the leather and fur. We accept a project when the material allows a correct intervention and a durable result. If a repair would compromise the garment, we explain openly why we do not recommend it.

We know that some garments have great sentimental or historical value. In these cases, we take the necessary time to analyse the options and find the most suitable solution for preserving them.

How do I properly care for a fur coat?

Avoid moisture and direct heat, thin hangers and plastic garment bags. We recommend periodic professional cleaning (Fur SPA).

Where do the raw materials come from?

From certified auctions and sources (Kopenhagen Fur, Saga/Sojuzpushnina), with FURMARK traceability.
